1. Enhanced Security: FreeOTP adds an extra layer of security by generating time-based one-time passwords (TOTP), significantly mitigating the risks associated with password theft or unauthorized access.
2. Open Source: As an open-source application, FreeOTP allows for greater transparency and security auditing, ensuring that users can trust the integrity of the software.
3. Compatibility: FreeOTP is compatible with various online services and apps that use TOTP or HOTP for authentication, making it a versatile tool for securing multiple accounts.
Con
1. Limited Backup Options: FreeOTP lacks a built-in backup feature, making it difficult to recover authentication data if you lose or replace your device.
2. No Cloud Sync: The app does not support cloud synchronization, requiring manual transfer of tokens across devices, which can be cumbersome.
3. Basic User Interface: The app's user interface is minimalistic and lacks intuitive design elements that could enhance user experience and ease of use.
