Pro
1. End-to-End Encryption: Briar uses end-to-end encryption to ensure that all messages and data remain confidential and secure from third-party interception.
2. Decentralized Communication: The app doesn't rely on central servers. Instead, it uses peer-to-peer connections, which enhances privacy and reduces vulnerability to server failures.
3. Offline Messaging: Briar supports offline communication through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, allowing users to send messages even without internet access, which is useful in remote areas or during network outages.
Con
1. Limited User Base: Briar has a smaller user base compared to mainstream messaging apps, making it harder to connect with friends and family who might not use the app.
2. Complex Interface: The app has a more complex interface, which can be challenging for users who are not tech-savvy or familiar with secure communication tools.
3. Resource Intensive: Briar can be resource-intensive, consuming significant battery and processing power, which may impact overall device performance, especially on older smartphones.
