The Chosen

Pros

The Chosen app offers free, high-quality streaming of the series across devices with the option to download episodes for offline viewing and support a pay-what-you-want model. Its intuitive interface makes finding and watching episodes simple, while reliable playback and cross-platform availability ensure easy access at home or on the go.

The app integrates Bible study tools, episode notes, and scripture references tied to each installment, making it ideal for personal reflection or group study. Built-in discussion guides, leader resources, and curated devotional content help churches and small groups engage meaningfully with the show’s themes and deepen spiritual conversations.

With multilingual subtitles, shareable clips, and synchronized watch-party features, The Chosen app fosters community and outreach. It supports multiple platforms — mobile, web, and streaming devices — and provides accessibility features and language options so viewers worldwide can connect, share favorite moments, and participate in collective viewing experiences.

Cons

Some users experience occasional buffering, failed downloads, or inconsistent playback across devices. Offline viewing can be unreliable, with downloads sometimes expiring or not syncing properly between devices, which frustrates viewers who rely on stable access while traveling or in areas with limited connectivity.

The app’s device and platform support is uneven: it’s not available on every smart-TV ecosystem or streaming stick, and feature parity varies between mobile, web, and TV apps. That inconsistency forces users to switch devices or use casting workarounds to watch seamlessly on larger screens.

The app’s funding model and in-app prompts can confuse new users—while episodes are free, donation appeals and optional purchases are frequent. Additionally, language support and subtitle options remain limited for some international audiences, reducing accessibility for non-English speakers and viewers with hearing impairments.
