Cons

Many of Rocket Money’s most useful tools—automatic subscription cancellation, bill negotiation, and advanced budgeting—are locked behind the paid Premium tier. The free version provides limited functionality, so users expecting comprehensive, no-cost money management will find essential features gated by subscription fees and recurring charges.

Rocket Money requires linking bank and credit accounts to track spending, which raises privacy and security concerns for some users. Although the app uses industry-standard encryption and third-party aggregators, storing financial credentials and aggregated transaction data can make users uneasy about data access, breaches, or how their information is shared.

Automatic categorization, subscription detection, and bill negotiation aren’t always accurate; miscategorized transactions and missed or failed cancellations occur. Users report occasional bank connection issues and slow customer support responses, which can delay problem resolution and reduce confidence in relying on the app for critical budgeting or bill-management tasks.
