MAJORITY

Pros

MAJORITY’s mobile app streamlines account opening for immigrants and underbanked customers — no Social Security number required and multilingual support simplifies verification using passports or other IDs. Fast, mobile-first onboarding lets users open an FDIC-insured account, order a debit card, and start banking within minutes from their phone.

Low-cost everyday banking with MAJORITY reduces fees and surprises. The app offers fee-conscious features like affordable monthly plans, free or low-cost debit card transactions, direct deposit, bill pay, and convenient cash reloads at retail partners. Funds are held in an FDIC-insured account through a partner bank, keeping money secure.

Built-in international money transfers make MAJORITY ideal for sending remittances home. The app supports multiple corridors with competitive exchange rates and low transfer fees, fast delivery options, and clear tracking so users can monitor transfers end-to-end. This simplifies sending and receiving funds across borders directly from the mobile app.

Cons

MAJORITY is primarily app-based, meaning limited or no physical branches for in-person help. That can make cash deposits, notarized services, or hands-on problem resolution difficult, especially for users who prefer face-to-face support or need services that require physical documentation or interaction, and may complicate identity verification.

Some transactions on MAJORITY, such as out-of-network ATM withdrawals, international transfers, or expedited services, can incur fees and daily limits. These costs and caps may not be clearly visible up front, leading to unexpected charges or inconvenience for users who frequently need cash access, large transfers, or cross-border payments.

MAJORITY focuses on basic banking features and may lack a wide range of financial products like mortgages, personal loans, wealth management, robust credit-building tools, and comprehensive financial advice. Users seeking long-term financial planning, complex lending, or integrated investment options might find the app’s offerings limited compared with full-service banks.
