Pros
First Interstate Bank Mobile makes account management effortless: check real-time balances, review transaction histories, transfer funds between accounts and schedule or pay bills from your phone. Its streamlined interface simplifies everyday banking tasks, saving time and reducing trips to branches while keeping essential features easily accessible for on-the-go users.
Mobile check deposit and convenient payments set First Interstate Bank Mobile apart. Snap photos to deposit checks instantly, use bill pay to manage recurring payments, and send transfers without visiting a branch. These capabilities speed up processing and provide a reliable way to handle finances whenever and wherever you need them.
Security features in First Interstate Bank Mobile protect your accounts with biometric login (Face ID/Touch ID), secure encryption, multi-factor authentication, and customizable account alerts. Real-time notifications and fraud monitoring help you detect suspicious activity early, while secure messaging and eStatements provide safe, paperless access to statements and communication.
Cons
The app covers essential banking tasks—balance checks, transfers, and mobile deposits—but lacks many advanced features found in larger-bank apps, such as comprehensive budgeting tools, robust account aggregation, and highly customizable alerts. Users seeking full personal‑finance management or third‑party integrations may find the feature set limited.
Some users experience intermittent performance issues, including slow load times, failed transactions, or problems with biometric login (Face ID/fingerprint) after updates. These occasional glitches can interrupt quick access to accounts and may require restarting the app or re‑registering a device, reducing reliability for time‑sensitive banking.
In‑app customer support and handling of complex transactions can be limited. Issues like dispute resolution, loan servicing, or certain transfers often require contacting phone support or visiting a branch. Response times for chat and phone assistance vary, which can frustrate customers expecting immediate, in‑app problem resolution.
