Cons

The app can feel overwhelming for newcomers. The interface packs advanced charts, order types, and menus that can confuse users looking for simple buy/sell functions. Poorly organized navigation and crypto-specific jargon increase the learning curve, making it harder to quickly execute trades or find essential features without a steep orientation.

Fiat on-ramping and availability are inconsistent across regions. Gate.io relies on third-party payment providers, limiting direct bank deposits in many countries and often adding extra fees. This can complicate initial funding, slow purchases, and force users to use external exchanges or peer-to-peer services, undermining convenience and cost transparency.

Customer support response times and fee transparency can be problematic. Support tickets and live chat may take longer than expected, while withdrawal fees and trading charges vary by token and feature. Complex fee tiers, promotions, and margin/derivatives risks can create surprise costs and make it difficult to accurately project trading expenses.
