Frequently Asked Questions
Is Flightradar24 free to use?
Yes — a free tier offers basic live tracking with ads. Paid subscriptions unlock advanced features (longer playback, weather layers, alerts, no ads and higher refresh rates).
How can I improve local coverage?
Coverage improves if you host or connect to an ADS‑B feeder. In the US, the new dual‑band receiver supports both 1090 MHz and 978 MHz (UAT) to capture more general‑aviation traffic.
How accurate is the live data and is there any delay?
ADS‑B data is typically near real‑time (seconds of latency). Other sources like MLAT or satellite can introduce small delays. Playback and live‑stream features may have additional buffering depending on network conditions.
