Fidelity Investments

Pros

The Fidelity app delivers comprehensive research and trading tools, including real-time quotes, customizable watchlists, stock and ETF screeners, analyst reports, and portfolio analytics. Investors can access in-depth market data and educational content to research ideas, monitor holdings, and execute strategies efficiently from a single, professionally organized mobile interface.

Managing accounts and executing trades is fast and cost-effective with features like commission-free online US stock and ETF trading, seamless transfers between accounts, mobile check deposit, multiple order types, and instant trade confirmations. The app also supports account aggregation and retirement planning tools to simplify day-to-day investing and long-term goal management.

Fidelity prioritizes security and customer support, offering biometric login, multi-factor authentication, encryption, and account alerts to protect assets. Combined with responsive support channels, personalized planning tools, goal trackers, and tax-aware features, the app helps users manage risk, stay informed, and make confident decisions toward retirement and other financial objectives.

Cons

The app can feel overwhelming for new investors. Menus and dashboards are feature-dense, with many tools, account types, and settings packed in. Beginners may struggle to find basics like trade confirmations, tax documents, or portfolio summaries without a learning curve—making the mobile experience less intuitive than simpler investing apps.

Many advanced trading tools and real-time market data are optimized for desktop or require Active Trader Pro and additional subscriptions. The mobile app lacks some professional charting features, Level II quotes, advanced order types, and certain premium research feeds, which can frustrate active traders who expect full desktop functionality on their phone.

Cryptocurrency support is limited compared with dedicated crypto platforms. Fidelity does not offer a wide selection of spot crypto trading or decentralized assets within the standard app, and retail access to custody or advanced crypto tools is restricted—so users focused on buying, selling, or trading many coins may need a separate crypto exchange.
