Everlance

Pros

Automatic GPS tracking records drives in the background and generates IRS‑compliant mileage logs with mapped routes, timestamps, and trip-purpose notes. Smart trip detection and accurate odometer readings reduce manual entry and provide defensible records for freelancers, contractors, and businesses preparing for audits or maximizing tax deductions.

Integrated expense and receipt capture links receipts to trips and transactions, letting you categorize costs and produce consolidated reports for taxes or reimbursements. Easy CSV/PDF exports and clear summaries streamline bookkeeping, speed up month‑end reconciliation, and reduce time spent on expense management for sole proprietors and small teams.

Robust team and admin features let managers set custom mileage rates, enforce policies, and run payroll‑ready reimbursements with role‑based access and centralized billing. Seamless integrations with accounting platforms like QuickBooks centralize reporting, improve compliance, and cut administrative overhead as your business scales.

Cons

Everlance's free tier is limited; essential features like automatic trip detection, IRS-ready reports, and multiple vehicle support require a paid subscription. The monthly or annual cost can be expensive for casual users or freelancers, making it less accessible for those who only need occasional mileage tracking.

Automatic tracking relies on your phone's GPS and can drain battery quickly. Location errors—especially in urban canyons or tunnels—missed short trips, and occasional duplicate or split trips require manual corrections. Requiring background location permissions can also feel intrusive, reducing convenience and accuracy for tax or reimbursement reporting.

Everlance stores continuous location history, which raises privacy concerns for users uncomfortable sharing detailed movement data. Export formats and third-party integrations are limited on lower plans, and customers report occasional syncing errors and slow support. These issues can complicate audits, compliance, and integration with existing accounting workflows for businesses.
