Fly Delta

Pros

Fly Delta streamlines booking and reservation management with an intuitive interface for searching flights, selecting seats, and purchasing upgrades. Users can manage multiple itineraries, store payment methods, and access SkyMiles account details for award travel and tracking. Faster booking and clear fare options reduce friction and improve travel planning.

Real-time flight alerts and status updates keep travelers informed of gate changes, delays, cancellations, and boarding times through push notifications and in-app messages. The app offers live airport maps, estimated arrival and connection guidance, and baggage tracking so passengers can monitor progress and adjust plans quickly when disruptions occur.

Integrated SkyMiles features, mobile boarding passes, and Wallet support make airport transitions smoother. Personalized offers, upgrade notifications, and digital ID/document options streamline check-in and boarding. With loyalty benefits and easy access to receipts and travel history, the Fly Delta app centralizes travel essentials to enhance convenience and reward frequent flyers.

Cons

The Fly Delta app can be unstable during peak travel times, with occasional crashes, slow loading, or errors when checking in and retrieving mobile boarding passes. These reliability issues can cause stress at the airport and sometimes force users to switch to the website or contact customer service to complete time-sensitive tasks.

Many users report login and SkyMiles account sync problems, including repeated authentication prompts, two-factor hiccups, and lost saved preferences. These account issues disrupt seamless access to itineraries and loyalty benefits, often requiring password resets or manual re-linking of accounts, which undermines the convenience the app is supposed to provide.

The app has limited support for complex itineraries and multi-passenger management—handling group bookings, multi-city trips, seat upgrades, or special requests is often cumbersome or impossible in-app. Travelers frequently need to use the desktop site or call Delta directly to make changes, reducing the app’s usefulness for more complicated travel plans.
