Pros
The BMO Digital Banking app gives 24/7 access to your accounts, easy mobile check deposits, bill pay, and instant transfers. Manage balances, view statements, and find ATMs/branches from your phone, saving trips to a branch and streamlining daily banking tasks for busy users anytime, anywhere with intuitive navigation.
Robust security features such as biometric login (Touch/Face ID), multi-factor authentication, real-time fraud monitoring, and secure encryption keep your finances protected. The BMO app also offers card controls and instant alerts so you can lock cards, monitor activity, and respond quickly to suspicious transactions for peace of mind.
Built-in money management tools help track spending, set budgets, schedule bill payments, and receive customized alerts. With easy transfers between accounts and to others, digital statements, and integrated insights, the BMO Digital Banking app simplifies financial planning and improves visibility over your cash flow, helping you reach financial goals faster.
Cons
Occasional performance and stability issues can be frustrating: users may experience slow load times, app freezes, or failed transactions during peak periods. Intermittent login problems — including biometric sign-in hiccups — can delay access when time-sensitive transfers or payments are needed. Performance also varies across devices and OS versions.
The mobile app sometimes lacks parity with the desktop site for advanced features. Detailed account management, investment tools, certain bill-pay options, and specialized mortgage or business services may be restricted or harder to access, forcing power users to switch to the web portal to view full statements, settings, or complex transactions.
In-app support and troubleshooting can be limited. Automated help and FAQs don’t always resolve complex problems, and reaching a live representative may involve long hold times or multiple transfers. That can make it slow and difficult to handle fraud alerts, transaction disputes, or account access issues through the app alone.
