Ace Hardware

Pros

Ace Hardware’s app streamlines shopping with real-time store inventory, barcode scanning, and easy Buy Online, Pick Up In Store (BOPIS). Search, compare, and order from nearby locations, choose same-day curbside pickup or delivery, and track orders — making it fast to find parts and complete projects without wasted trips to the store.

The app rewards loyal customers through Ace Rewards, digital coupons, and personalized deals. Earn points on purchases, access member-only discounts, clip digital coupons, and store receipts electronically. Regularly updated promos and price comparisons help you maximize savings while simplifying checkout and expense tracking for homeowners and contractors alike.

Built-in how-to articles, project calculators, and curated product lists provide inspiration and guidance for DIYers. The app connects you with local store experts, tool rental options, and service appointments, so you get materials, advice, and hands-on help in one place — ideal for planning, estimating, and completing home improvement projects.

Cons

Inventory and availability inconsistencies are common: the app sometimes shows items as in stock online that aren’t actually available at nearby Ace stores, which can lead to canceled orders or wasted trips for pickup. Limited real-time inventory syncing and unclear pickup/ship timelines frustrate users relying on accurate local availability.

Product search and navigation can feel clumsy, returning irrelevant results or hiding useful filtering options. Vague categories and sparse product descriptions make it harder to compare items or confirm compatibility, slowing down shopping for DIYers who need to quickly find parts or exact replacements.

Performance and checkout friction create friction at purchase: the app can be slow to load, occasionally crash, or require repeated logins. Checkout/payment options are sometimes limited, and applying loyalty rewards or promo codes can be confusing, contributing to abandoned carts and a disrupted buying experience.
