Pro
1. Enhanced Security: The Macquarie Authenticator app adds an extra layer of protection by generating time-based one-time passcodes, making it more difficult for unauthorized users to gain access to your account.
2. Convenience: With the app, you don't need to carry a separate token or device; your smartphone is all you need to approve transactions and sign in, streamlining the authentication process.
3. Offline Functionality: The application can generate codes without an internet connection, enabling you to authenticate anywhere and anytime, ensuring continuous access to your services even when you're not connected to the web.
Con
1. Platform Limitations: Macquarie Authenticator may not be available or fully functional across all devices or operating systems, limiting accessibility for users who do not use supported hardware.
2. Usability Issues: Some users find the interface less intuitive or encounter difficulties when setting up or using the app, potentially leading to a frustrating user experience.
3. Dependency on Mobile Device: The application requires a mobile device to generate authentication codes. If the device is lost, stolen, or has a dead battery, users may be unable to access their accounts promptly.
